We had a lovely stay at Howbeck & the Retreat Incl Off-Site Health Club And Parking Ev Point Available. the rooms were elegant and well-appointed, featuring a fantastic spa bath. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of quality food options. the outside patio was a nice touch, and the health club nearby had excellent facilities. the location was ideal, and everything was very clean.

Furniture lacked flat surfaces. Traffic noise was noticeable.

i liked the decor n the hotel, i thought it was very tastefully done. The staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotels location was great.

the heating system sometimes had a tapping noise in the pipes, occasionally this would get on your nerves.

would like to stay there on the next trip as it was a very good stay for two nights. the staff are attentive, the hotel is clean and the breakfast is superb. the rooms are beautifully decorated and new-fashioned and generally offer central heating, tv set, and ironing facilities. the location is ideal in a beautiful area, near the centre of windermere, the beautiful surroundings and the lake district.

The room had a lovely cozy decor. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the vibrant center of Windermere with plenty of eateries, restaurants, and shops. St Mary's Church was also nearby, which was convenient.

This hotel could be top notch but the luxury decor lacks the final attention to detail which would bring it to the standard it seems to seek to achieve. E.G. proper cable mangement, finishing of bathroom floor edges, attention to repairs needed E.G. bathroom floor tiles are wobbly. Staff need to be more discreet and a bit more professional. This from my experience of staying all over Europe. I enjoyed my stay but I think this hotel could make a little effort in a few areas to make all the difference. I hope it does: this is supposed to be constructive criticism!

The staff are very good and courteous. The breakfast is exceptionally good with a lot of meals. The location is excellent and fab, right by Cook House Gallery. There are a lot of bars and restaurants nearby.

Loved our stay, had good 1 day overall. Overall it was neat and airy with a spa bath jacuzzi. The staff was really friendly and the food was excellent. The offered breakfast was great value for money and included plenty of options. The hotel was gorgeous and in a central location just next door to town center, all the bars/restaurants and Bowness and Windermere.

Stopped at The Howbeck in the Glenridding Room, smaller than pictures suggest, tv is way to small, bathroom tatty with discoloured grout, damaged / loose floor tiles and unfinished / poorly finished tiling which really let it down. The room also overlooks next doors back yard which isn't the most pleasant and isn't mentioned in the advert.

The relaxing countryside residence , The Howbeck, was a beautiful environment to stay in. The rooms are decorated very tastfully and the service at breakfast was spot on.

The room was newly furnished with a four-poster bed and a beautiful decor, and the location was perfect in the city center.

From the Booked.net website there were pictures of a swimming pool which I know I was not at this hotel after subsequent reading. Although I didn't ask about it whilst there, because it wasn't needed on this trip, I just felt that was slightly misleading or there could've been more information in the room about it?

Unbeatable and brilliant location in Lake District, and 10 minute walk from Thuline Studio. The rooms with a spa bath jacuzzi.

The place was fairly clean and the staff were very good and courteous. The position was great and lovely, with many bars and restaurants nearby. There was free Wi-Fi in public areas and the service in general was good.

When we booked the room at booking . Com we were promised a spa corner bath a king size four poster bed ,when we arrived we got a different room altogether there's a double bed not a king size bed not a corner bath the room was so small my partner and I struggle to move around...the breakfast was appalling the mushrooms were from a tin the tomatoes were cold the black pudding was soggy and the selection of cheese and meat platters was even worse ...I certainly won't be going back,the whole experience was awful and on your site was advertise a 5 star hotel ,well that was a b&b thank you very much!
